AQAP is as much an al Qaeda "branch" as Macaulay Culkin's new band is a "branch" of the Velvet Underground,

Our perpetual, pointless wars are justified by 9/11 and to do so politicians must tether entirely unrelated parties to what happened that day. "Al Qeada" is a vague ideology not an organization and vague ideologies cannot have "branches", so please, for the love of holy hell. can we stop carrying water for this propagandistic conflation.

They're only a "vague ideology" because if they were to try to re-organize, they'd get a drone to the face. Each branch has clear lineage that leads back to OBL or one of the main progenitors of the organization.

How depressing is it that the US military can learn something about PR from Al Qaeda? Also, the blood money thing is interesting. Do we ever do that when our drone strikes kill innocent people?

Really? I guess you have chosen to ignore all the times we have apologized and provided compensation to the victims of errant drone strikes.

Well, usually we redefine "terrorist" to include whatever innocents we may have killed. But yes, sometimes we compensate drone strike victims. Although it's as corrupt and dysfunctional as everything else we do in the War on Terror.

Did anyone else watch the surveillance footage? They shoot obviously unarmed nurses, they throw a grenade at a bunch of children; it's stomach-turning. They're only sorry that their crusading defender image was tarnished in front of their few local supporters. Good work, you sacks of shit.

I don't have the stomach to watch, all I had to do was read "gunman" and "hospital" to know it was more fucked up than usual, though really not much more considering the group.

They claim it was done by fighters they think were crazy fanatics who refused to follow orders they were given for some extra mayhem. Yes, there are people that Al Qaeda bosses think are crazy fanatics.

Not that it changes the fact that they've ordered just as bad shit done without a word of apology, because they are only sorry for the nationality of the victims, not the acts themselves.

Raimi said "we are continuing with our Jihad..."

Raimi then went on to list his next three directorial efforts: Oz the Greater and More Powerful, the long awaited sequel to For the Love of the Game, Oz the Greatest and Most Powerful. There was no mention of a sequel to Army of Darkness.

Does America ever apologize for attacking weddings and droning random innocent people in the Middle East?

They do apologize. They even pay out money! Around a couple grand per person killed. You know, come to think of it, those lives seem pretty cheap...

So at what point do I not get snatched up for arguing that the Pentagon and the epicenter of global capital were legitimate targets and the people in the airplanes were collateral damage?
