Why do we still hate Cuba? I seriously don't get it. It's just an island of Caribbean Mexicans. How big of a threat could it be?

I have to say that I look forward to Obama being out of office, because he does his best work when it's just him and a microphone, and he doesn't have a trillion dollar bureaucracy to apologize for. He'll have a solid 30 years, if his health serves him, to work as a force for good.

Shaking hands with Castro. (Somewhat) balanced nuclear deal with Iran. Not bombing Syria. I think someone may have a mild case of the Mandelas.

Remote bombing of children, widespread surveillance of American citizens and the world at large, allowing Ted Cruz to happen...

I said "mild", credit where its due and all.

Either way, I'm not sure we can blame Obama for Ted Cruz, this seems a bit of a reach to say the least.

President Obama greeted and shook the hand of Cuban President Raul Castro, the first face-to-face meeting between leaders from the two countries in roughly half a century

It's a disgrace that O'bozo brazenly disrespects the dedication and sacrifice of drunken, chest-beating CIA operatives and hardened mafioso's to force another Shah, Saddam Hussein or Idi Amin on the people of Cuba.

As I've explained in previous posts long ago, I prefer to refer to the former president of Uganda as 'Eaty Amin' after his habit of cutting the beating hearts out of live captives, and eating them before their eyes.

But I suppose your spelling is technically correct.

May Xipe Totec bless his excellency's eternal soul, wherever it may burn.

/jokes - Ole' Idi must have been a competitive eater. He must have chugged a muscular, fist-sized organ down pretty quick if the victims actually watched him.

Oh great, more Mandala, like 24 hours for a fucking week isn't enough for someone who hasn't done anything for years and years.

How about modern racial subjugation? How about packs of black men hunting down white people in the street and knocking them unconcious? How about the apartheed we face everyday just leaving the house. Obama hasn't said shit about that nor has anybody in the liberal media. i guess when white people are abused it don't count.

"Hasn't done anything for years and years," and the only thing he did years and years ago was end institutional racism for an entire country. Yeah, why would THAT be worth celebrating?

Knockout game, the "packs of black men hunting down white people in the street and knocking them unconscious," is not a real thing. Time to turn off Rush Limbaugh, pull your head out of his gigantic ass, and think. With your brain.

It breaks my heart that Mandela was in prison for 27 years and only got 23 years on the outside after that, with a portion of that in poor health. But I do believe he was the type of man who was ready to rest at the end of his Long Day. Sleep sound, sir.

I can't believe that he made it to 95 years old after spending that long in those conditions. Prison has got to remove years from one's life. Perhaps he would have otherwise lived to 112, or perhaps his longevity was fueled by his engagement and triumph in the world.

I'm glad Obama mentioned the economic elements beyond just the racial harmony stuff. MLK has been whitewashed into being a swell guy who just wanted the races to get along.

Spot on re: MLK and economics. Thanks to Edw. Bernays and the Big Business oligarchs, we Americans have been so thoroughly propagandised for decades to accept Big Business taking precedence over We the People. And it continues today with TPP, union busting, etc.
