Does it really matter? Disgruntled ex employees could provide mounds of evidence pointing to Roger Ailes working to create the Fourth Reich, using Fox News as a propaganda machine to wipe out dissension in America as we know it, and their diehard zombie viewing audience wouldn't believe it.

I think that's probably right, but then why pay this guy? I suspect he may have had some pretty damning information. Which means that if anyone else has the "goods" on Fox, will they have to pay them to keep quiet as well. Do this enough and it could start leading to some real money.

I suspect that they never had to really worry about this until recently because whoever worked at Fox, probably believed in "the cause" at some level. With the recession, people worked wherever they could get a paycheck and that means the potential for more non-believers walking around at Fox. So, my guess is they'll go Scientology and make people sign 900 year confidentiality agreements, etc.

But Fox knows the magic word...Disgruntled. Apply that word to every critical ex-employee and Fox is golden with their viewership. If that fails there is always BENGHAZI!

At this point, I'd do it for a $20 Starbucks gift card. And I don't even like Starbucks.

Relevant, I just finished reading Joe Mutos book "An Atheist in the Foxhole" and would recommend it to anyone here. I couldn't put it down, great read.

(not sponsored, just enjoyed the hell out of it)

I second that recommendation: really informative insider view from a non-Kool-Aid drinker who took the job for the money.

The scorched Earth campaign against Sherman's book by Fox proxies (breitbart, Krauthammer, etc) was part of Fox's radio silence strategy? Criminy!
