So by living downtown I'm screwing over Wall Street? Excellent.

Yes but you're really taking your life in to your own hands living in urban centers. All that mixing. Scary.

Grab your gun(s), drive now to your nearest McDonalds and build your own burger. It's what the founding fathers would have wanted.

But don't forget to break your McDonalds food into pieces so you'll eat less but still feel full...

I LOVE driving. One of the continuing joys of my life is blasting music and driving down the highway. Tolls and gas prices will not dim this amazing pleasure.

I have to drive to live and work, but I love it for its own sake. I know that driving has a bad reputation with a lot of people who believe that everyone should live in cities, but the US functions as a big old entity and those of us who live in "flyover" country need cars to make life work.

          Unnecessary snark.

Also, I wish the people who make fun of car drivers would examine their own contribution to pollution problems.

Here in Atlanta, they are converting our only true toll road into a free road this weekend. Love it.

Really? The 400 is going toll-free? When I left they were talking about it, but I figured the lawmakers under the gold dome had gotten too used to the revenues to allow that to happen after all.

eta: Are they still talking about putting a toll on the 75? And what about those "Peach Passes?" Are they not generating the money they thought they would?

Fuck cars. There are all kinds of insane crashes every day. I have a panic attack every time I'm in a friend's car and we are driving down some sort of big-road-highway-thing. My friends are careful but other people are all kinds of careless and crazy. I lose my mind when I see people switching through 14 different lanes without using their blinkers or just meandering towards other cars/lanes whilst texting or doing god knows what. I assume that none of them are wearing pants. Fuck that. Fuck them. Fuck cars.

There need to be more public transportation options that are both efficient and affordable.

Imo intersections are much worse than highways. But the worst of all is dark icy roads with little visibility.

When I was a teenager I was a passenger in a car that got hit at an intersection. Small car v.s. SUV = NOPE. Fuck intersections too...

You know what's unpatriotic? Driving around on under-inflated tires. Shitty gas mileage = more American blood spilled in Araby. Think about it.

TIL you need a licence to clear tables.

Wall Street loves outmoded social norms and doomed business models, since it's cheaper to buy a Legislature than evolve and retool. #allboutdanextquarterbitches!

Or, like here in Illinois, where they recently doubled the tolls, people are simply avoiding the toll roads. Why the fuck would I pay 95 cents or more to drive on a road that I can only do 45 mph on for 30 miles because of construction? I only drive on till roads if it is completely unavoidable.
