      Tru Dat!

All joking aside though. What I see when I look at him is a very sad man. I wonder if his supporters see the same thing and identify with him on some deep level.

Was he ever not "very, very" or "extremely, extremely" inebriated? (Dumb question, I know.) And since when did that turn into an acceptable "apology?"

Nothing Ford does seems "acceptable", but I do think that he sleeps sometimes and he is less inebriated while sleeping.

Similarly, I sincerely apologize for driving under the influence last weekend but in my defense I'd like to point out I was very, very drunk at the time.

Yes, inebriated. Because that word may also to being high on cocaine. Playing with words again, Mr. Ford?

            "Rob Ford for Prime Minister!"

That actually gets shouted at this press conference.

I heard that. Maybe it was his wife?

Reminds me of the classic opening sequence of WKRP in Cincinnati, showing the city from inside a car as an unseen driver fiddles with the radio dial. It briefly passes an all news channel, where the announcer says something like "The Senator, while denying his intoxication, was unable to explain his nudity..."

Does he have, like, an advisor? Chief of staff? PR guy? Personal assistant? Mom? Someone, anyone, who could be physically restraining Hizonner Ford and packing him off to a private rehab facility off in the country somewhere, before he says or does one more public thing? I sort of thought all political teams had a contingency plan like this, at the back of the filing cabinet, in the "Operation: Our Guy Has Lost His Marbles, In Public" folder.

What surprises me most isn't that Ford has turned out to be an alcoholic coke-head loon — shit happens — as that his political machine has no handlers or stage managers on the scene to do damage control. Isn't Ford (nationally) a Conservative? Don't the Conservatives care that this guy is embarrassing them and trashing their brand?

The all quit or have been fired.

It's all down to his brother, people that work for his brother, and his mother.

                Not even kidding.

Ultimately no one can control Ford, or what he does (as is obvious by now I think). Including getting him to step down. You can't force someone to resign, unless they are convicted of a crime during office, I believe.
