    Far be it from me to defend the double-standard and impunity that politicians are all too eager to take advantage of, but this entire thing is so, so dumb. Rob Ford is a fucking moron, but people should be allowed to use whatever drugs they want. I know that's not quite within the lines of holding our elected officials to a standard of responsibility, but all of the pearl-clutching over this mires a much broader dialogue on enforcement and personal freedom.

      Yeah, no...

      I could care less if he drinks or smokes weed but I do not want a mayor that smokes crack. Crack =/= weed. If you think so I suggest you spend a week hanging out in the mens shelter in Moss Park.

      Don't think they have enough hard evidence for an arrest. They observed many instances of Sandro putting packages in Ford's SUV, but no proof what was in the packages.

    Thanks for staying with the story, guys; looks like it is paying off. The Star article says they have surveillance of more than 100 meetings between Ford and his drug dealer, Lisi. I can't wait to hear him talk his way out of that one on his radio show.

      Just read The Star's article where they congratulated themselves, claiming "only the mainstream media" have the resources to uncover this story, with no mention of Gawker and all but omitting police detective's work. Lame!

      Let's be honest, the 2 reporters at the Star did most of the heavy lifting on this story. They'd been on the crack video story for months when John Cook became involved, they just could not publish due to the hella strict laws in Canada vs. the U.S.

      The police built a catalogue of probable crimes by the mayor with their surveillance, but for whatever reason, decided not to search the Mayor any one of the 100 times they witnessed him buy crack. Not once. They specifically avoided arresting him.

      Any other person would have been arrested any one of those 100 times. Initially I was elated that the police were able to recover the video, but now I'm starting to feel some rage at the double standard by which the poor black criminals and the rich white criminal were treated in this case.
