So, this is a question to anyone, and I realize a lot of people are probably going to think I'm trolling, but I'm really just curious. Why do we care about our dead so much that this matters? On either side, really, the ridiculous people traipsing about for the funeral of a fake person, but also the parents of the dead two year old. I mean, it's of course sad that a two year old died at some point, but why does anyone care about the grave? If it's about memories, why not... I dunno, remember the kid where he or she was alive and (hopefully) happy?

Wait til you actually experience loss. A milestone in normal human emotional development. Maybe in your 20's.

It's not exactly logical, but it's hard to expect anything involving the loss of a loved one to be logical.

Personally, I want to be cremated so my corpse isn't arbitrarily stored in a box underground forever.

Question of etiquette here: obviously standing on a headstone is appalling, but what about walking over the grass of the grave itself. Sometimes I think my sister and I are the only people in the world who were taught to walk six feet away from headstones. Really, the only safe place we could walk was immediately BEHIND headstones. Are my family just unusually grave-sensitive?

Also, you don't think walking on the graves matters to the dead people? You try walking over my mother's. She will COME BACK FOR YOU!

I was raised that way too. I thought that was the norm, but I only go to cemeteries once in a blue moon. -shrug- I guess I could look past walking on the grave, but the headstone? Have some respect, Jesus.

You know what? Those people are dead. It really makes no difference to them if anyone stands on their graves.

Which is why they aren't the ones complaining. However, their families, who I would assume visit those graves, probably don't want to be disrupted by tourists visiting a fake grave site or come to visit to their relatives only to find crap littered all over the site of their loved one. It's a respect thing.

I once made a birthday cake for a fictional character.

      I was 11.

Just want to say thanks to the internet in general for spoiling the ending of Breaking bad for me. I'm still in the second season, but judging from all the news about mock funerals for Walter White, I have a pretty good idea how it ends. Again, thanks assholes.

Right?! The internet should wait for everyone ever to watch every movie and series ever before discussing them. Thanks assholes.

I can't believe anyone thought that this was a good idea. It's lame in concept and execution.

Agreed. I remain a huge fan and in a state of mourning, but for chrissakes, if you're actually gonna hold a funeral for Walter White, hold it in the spirit of his character—don't glorify the son of a bitch by parking a RV meth lab on a cemetery lawn, and act as if we're all supposed to be sad Enemy Number One/mass murderer Walter White is dead. And that's only a few of the reasons why this was ridiculous (though yay for charity! Wish they'd centered it on Hank and Gomie, if they're gonna go the altruistic route).

I liked the charity aspect, BUT I'm kinda getting tired of charities being used an excuse to exercise some highly questionable acts (Can I bury my face in yo titties, girl?? Ah, don't worry, it's for breast cancer research!!)

Why didn't they just go to the desert and bury a fake casket there? It makes way much more sense since that's where Walter got started and where he took the huge loss of Hank's death. It's as if these people did watch the show, but didn't pay attention and it fucking sucks because this show deserves way more respect than what they thought they were paying it.

So I def stand by my "lame in concept, lame in execution" comment.

I'm a fan of the show, but this is getting out of hand. the obituary was cheaky and fun, if you're the sad type of loser that needs closure from a god damned tv show.
Did "Trapper" from M*A*S*H get a burial with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery? (the answer is "no" because M*A*S*H is a tv show!)
Quit walking on baby graves and get back to your babylon 5 cosplay, or virgin-larping party's... or what ever it is you dorks did before this.

Did Trapper die? Because he had a spin-off set several years later. Maybe you mean Henry?

When you dig deep to the fandom of anything people tend to be creepy and weird but Breaking Bad has some of the worst fans. Love the show more than anything but their fans can be a bunch of misogynistic, racist, d-bags. And I am not talking about Skyler hate. This is nothing compared to some of the people.

I'm beginning to see that. When I watched it in the beginning no one was talking about. I mentioned before I watched it because of the Lung Cancer angle since my mom was going through the same thing. Thought it might be cathartic for me.
