I want it to be noted that this dick initially pled NOT GUILTY. The judge then postponed the hearing and he changed the plea a week later.

Probably thought he would be getting a more lenient charge when he said he'd plead guilty.

Well, we are keeping a drunk driver off the road for at least 6 years. That said, I don't recall knowing many responsible drinkers at that age and now that I'm 32, I wouldn't mind if they bumped the limit up to a more mature age range.

I've never heard of a license being suspended for life. Is that a normal thing?Seems like something that would impact his ability to make a living after he gets out.

Of course, his victim and the victim's family's lives have been impacted irrevocably, so maybe it's a fair impediment.

Depends on where you live. I don't drive and do just fine making a living. I imagine he's going to be a felon when he gets out and that'll probably be what makes it hard to earn a decent living.

Well it's a punishment, there's no reason to let him behind the wheel of a car ever again.

It's also worth noting that we have far and away the most lenient drunk driving laws in the western world.

Vehicular Manslaughter and he only gets 6.5 years? He should get the full 15 years just for trying to famewhore the killing of an innocent man on YouTube and his website.

Ohio law. Vehicular homicide: 2nd degree is 8 years and $15,000 fine. 1st degree: 10 years and $20,000 fine. Add a DUI/OVI to the vehicular homicide and you get an added 5 years. And thats not even including the Felony Hit-and-Run fines and penalties.

The idea of going to jail for six years will, of course, totally encourage more people to come forward and confess their guilt in accidental death crimes like these.

Columbus is a damn champion when it comes to DUIs. Turns out when you structure your whole city around the car and then place one of the nation's largest universities right in the center...

Isn't there an Anheuser-Busch brewery located in Columbus as well?
