Canadians like to be smug about politics compared to the United States, but Rob Ford is a pretty great of example of how we can be just as virulently anti-intellectual and behave in an embarrassing way towards minorities. Yet, alot of Canadians still like this guy because they feel like "they could have a beer with him." Ugh.

Okay if you had to have a beer with Ford or GWB who would you choose??

(death is not an option and you can choose the beer)

Bonus Question : what beer would you make them drink?

they feel like "they could have a beer with him."

Or, you know, smoke some crack. I hear meth is pretty popular with the illiterate conservatives in the countryside these days. He'd probably be down for a piece of that action.

I find it bold that Gawker continues to report on this guy after the massive failure of "crackstarter." One usually doesn't draw attention to one's failures.

We in Toronto are still holding out hope that the massive investigation that the police won't comment on because it is still ongoing will yield something.

They are keeping the public informed, many reports and stories get lost in the sea of information. The citizens of Toronto are grateful for this wide attention in hope of future public benefit.

The media failed to acquire the video which would have likely ended this sooner if eventually proven true, so they too have a vested interest in reporting the goings of Mayor Ford, his adjuncts and ancillary men-of-business relationships. Rob Ford maybe will be indirectly undone...

Do you now understand that their failure is incomplete?

The dry cleaner is around the corner from me. I took stuff there once and found Jay creepy and the shop seemed, just weird. Sketchy people hanging around. Never went back.

"Lisi has a lengthy record of interaction with police, including convictions for threatening and assaulting women." (Toronto Star)

Yup, a great guy and straight as an arrow.

Rob is also "surprised" about the possession arrest, despite the fact that Lisi's already been convicted once before.

Of course, we have to take his Rob Ford's word for it. We can't ask his brother, Doug, who says he hasn't met the guy, doesn't know him, and never talked to him in his life.

Lisi didn't work for the city, so his email/phone is not accessible through freedom of information act request. But they are by subpoena!

I guess xmas came early for all us bike riding downtown elites!

Speaking of flying, did anyone notice this statement from todays' Toronto Star

"The unusual step of air surveillance, using a Cessna contracted to the Toronto police, was employed to follow Ford and other people in Etobicoke."

So, in plain language, this means that Ford has been under police surveillance.

The question everyone here in Toronto is asking is: when will be be arrested?

I bet $50 anytime between now and end of November, 2013.

It all gets better...our provincial premiere, Wynne has shown her intellectual acumen by knowing shit about the Ontario Police Services Act when it comes to the Toronto Police Service investigating one of it's own "elected officials" with every meaning under Part IV of the Criminal Code of Canada. Ontario is such a shit province.

I live there. Ontario isn't exactly a shit province, but the people here don't seem to want to make it the awesome place it could be either though. :'(
