Love, love, love him, have done for nearly 30 years. I would vote for him for President, I think. He's brilliant, compassionate, funny, and has seen a lot of life. A mensch for all seasons.

Let's never forget, by the way, that scumbag Rush Limbaugh mocked MJF and his Parkinson's, going as far as imitating the trembles, even implying he was faking his symptoms. That that wasn't enough to get the lardass thrown off the air in disgust was amazing, but then again, he mocks blacks and gays and women on a regular basis so it probably didn't even register with his audience of very classy people and reverse mortgage scam advertisers.

Oh that was such a low point, even for that asshole. I hate that you reminded me. (I mean it's cool, lol, but I hate to go to bed angry.)

There is a special place in hell for Rush Limbaugh, even just based on that incident alone.

I hear Betsy Brandt steals every scene she's in.

Does every article about Michael J. Fox have to make reference to his "diminutive" stature? Seems lazy to me. Maybe it's just descriptive, but still, seems lazy.

I agree that the imaginative writing here comes up short.

That's the point in the first sentence in the Rolling Stone profile, fwiw, so it was a vague reference: "He's a short guy, even smaller than he looks onscreen, and his legs have some trouble communicating with his brain these days, but at age 52, Michael J. Fox still manages to walk a whole lot faster than most people."

I know some people who know his family here in Vancouver (well, Burnaby, but Gawker has never heard of Burnaby) and they are apparently ALL nice people, and always have been. I'm very happy to see a nice guy do well and continue to do well.

I don't know. I dated a girl in Lilooet (that's Cayoosh Flats for the Gawker olds,) who delivered his milk as a child. She said he was a grump. And, a shitty tipper- even for a Canadian. Jury's still out on this one.

Excellent perspective. Like all prejudices, the fear and pity directed at those with physical handicaps says far more about the insecurities and ignorance of the viewer than it does about the object of their gawking. I hope his new show addresses this dynamic.

I have nothing thoughtful to add—I just want to say that I love Michael J. Fox and I am so happy he's back on television with his own show.

He is absolutely fantastic as Louis Canning on The Good Wife. It's good to see him getting back to some straight-out comedy, though, rather than being a charmingly despicable bastard.
