Do we really think this is the first time anyone's used the word "biblical" to describe a heavy rainfall? Or the millionth, for that matter?

National Weather Service official forecasts rarely deviate from meteorological adjectives.

Ehh, he just misused the metaphor. Also, speaking Biblically, my oracles tell me that this flood is divine retribution for the hellbent electorate's Satan-inspired recall of God's own elected officials. (The ones who wanted background checks for gun purchases.)

Being from Texas, when I receive an email in all caps containing the word "Biblical" I reflexively delete it.

How will the atheists understand the magnitude of the threat? They are likely to understand "biblical" to mean "nonexistent" and as a result will be swept away by floodwaters as soon as they step outside.

Even atheists use 'biblical' as an adjective to describe Old Testament-style vengeful God weather! It's a fun one. But the flooding is rather dangerous, right? One person has already died. And I don't wanna fuck with landslides- That shit ruins lives because it's like, the ONE disaster a lot of victims don't have insurance for.

They're cancelling classes at CU and evacuating some housing areas. One of the hospitals flooded and is closed except for emergencies. A twelve-foot wall of water came down one of the canyons.

If only we could irradiate the water, and then....somehow....freeze the ground water into a veritable wall. Somebody ask Japan how that works.

I am fairly certain the excerpt is from a government wire. The all caps is just a formatting thing they always do. At least if they use the same format as an old client of mine did.

My understanding is that for emergency transmissions, they use it to avoid any possibility of confusion. No lower case L's confused with capitol I's ect.
