After reading the NY Post piece, it just reminded me how sad of an existence his wife (and probably most of the Kennedy women) probably led. Everyone thinks your life is the picture of perfection, yet you're married to a man who can keep his dick in his pants.

While I don't agree with suicide, if this journal turns out to be true, I can totally understand what drove her to it, and why she chose the "easy" way out.

  Does anyone still think the Kennedy women have picture perfect lives? I'm 29 and grew up only knowing JFK Jr. but even the idea of marrying him didn't seem that appealing and he seemed relatively normal compared to the rest of the Kennedy clan. They're all a mess coasting on the spirits of their more accomplished, yet dead relatives.

Does anyone else think it's stupid that he spends his whole life trying to change and hide himself? Why doesn't he just accept that he's somebody who wants multiple sexual partners and be honest and open about it and go from there? There's no reason you can't have a healthy and happy polyamorous relationship provided you're honest with each other. I agree he's an asshole, but it's because of the lying not the desires.

  People who are sexually compulsive in the way he seems to be aren't any good at being poly. Even with partners who allow some openness, they'll still lie and break the rules and seek out people who are off limits.

  I won't say it is him but there are a lot of people who need to be the "good family man/woman" on top of their cheating. It isn't just that they want to sleep around and feel societal pressure. They like the cheating, the hiding, the feeling of a second secret life. Feeling like you are putting one over on people is part of the appeal.
  
  People in open relationships are usually a completely different breed than RFK Jr. They tend to be honest.
  
  Beyond that many such people don't want their partner to accept it because their partners might want to sleep around as well which is not acceptable to them.
