      I'm sure she will be, and honestly she should because she left the identifying information on the receipt. The customer was an asshole but that doesn't give you the reason to post their information on the receipt.

      Now if she'd blocked out the signature and the numbers on the credit card it would be different.

      She probably doesn't give a shit at this point, and I don't blame her. I have had run-ins with terrible people as a server that left my soul crushed, and none of them were as awful as this. In those moments it is difficult to not just walk out the door.

    I'm actually kind of surprised. Franklin is a very rich, very nice suburb of Nashville and is generally one of the more liberal and educated parts of the state. Underhanded racism is much more that area's style. Openly using racial slurs would be considered gauche there, even by the racists.

    Oh I thought racism no longer existed in larger towns and cities in the South? Apparently Things Have Changed and people Have Learned To Get Along? At least that's what white Southerners keep saying all the time. There's this great thing now called the New South. And there, everybody lives in happy, segregated but n-word free heaven and somehow every rich/upper middle class white person has a black maid who's just like Fayumly. Bless their hearts!

      Oh please. What white Southerners say is that you should stop trying to make yourself feel better by patting yourself on the back for not living in the South because racism is everywhere in this country. We are tired of getting all of the flack because people from other states don't want to admit the same problems exist where they live too.

    I wonder if it's the case of someone just receiving absolutely terrible service and wanting to hurt the waitress as much as possible. That is, the person who did this would have found one way or another to write something equally hurtful regardless of the race of the waitress.

      Then just don't leave a tip or ask for a manager. If she was that bad, put her funds or job in jeopardy, but don't do that. That reads so much worse for you and your region. Notice how quickly people are to attack the area for the act of one dinner party (whether they did or didn't receive good service.)
