    Double standard. I've seen trains run with pigeons trapped on them. Won't somebody think of the pigeons?

      Honestly. If you drop your phone on the tracks, just leave it, and don't get a new one. You and portable phones were not meant to be.

    One hour sounds about right. There are five five-week-old kittens at my mother's house right now, and we were trying to shut them all her in bedroom and I swear to God every time I would grab two another one would shoot past me. And then when I grabbed the runaway the two I'd put down would run past me. It was Sisyphean. For as short-legged and waddly as they are they are really fucking fast.

    ALSO IF ANYONE IN THE OKLAHOMA CITY AREA WANTS KITTENS I HAVE FIVE.

      They are also little whirling balls of hate, claws, and teeth. My best success has been taking a tall kitchen trash can with no lid, cornering them, then reaching in with a flannel shirt and the gloves I use to prune thorny bushes. Just reach in, let their hate flow, and grab. It's kind of like picking really angry, spitting apples off the ground and placing them in a basket.

      ALSO IF ANYONE IN THE SCRANTON AREA WANTS KITTENS I HAVE ANYWHERE BETWEEN THREE AND NINE EVERY FEW MONTHS

        Isn't this part of the lines that are actually on the ground, not under it or above it — a true rarity in the New York subway. If so, I would think animals would get caught there all the time.

          We have tree limb issues regularly. Blizzards aren't helpful either, made worse by the fact that snow falls in the trench then has nowhere else to go.
