I don't get why Ailes would really be that paranoid about anything. He's an incredibly powerful guy who's built and managed something really successful and profitable. (I'm no fan of it but you can't argue its success). The only thing that should matter to him are ratings and what Rupert Murdoch thinks. He's gotta know that at least half of observers are going to find him loathsome. I'm guessing that this whole brouhaha is being engineered by a disgruntled PR guru who was actually fired for financial irregularities, also known as embezzlement if he funded vacations with company funds.
I'm really not trying to defend Ailes. I'm just saying that he's gotta be smart enough to know that his haters are gonna hate. I'd rather have someone loyal to me leaking on background than enemies dishing dirt. Any juicy anecdote this dude could have leaked would have revealed him as the source and this dude had to know that.

He’s powerful because he’s paranoid. Demanding fealty of inferiors, regarding those he knows less than completely as default enemies, punishing those who (whether in his imagination or reality) cross him: that’s how one consolidates and sustains power.

I hear ya but I worked closely for a similarly powerful/famous dude who employed similar tactics and he really wasn't preoccupied by the countless horror stories documented about him. The ends justified the means and the issues and people he cared about were what mattered, not the critics. My sense was that, in his mind, success legitimizes bad behavior in histories judgment of him.
I hear ya' though and I have no doubt that you have a better sense of who he is. Ailes sounds more Nixonian than dude I worked for.
      Thanks for reply.

The author of the Ailes book is Zev Chafets, not Chavets, dumbo.

Man things sure have changed in the Fox media family. Old headlines:

Don't forget the "IRS Scandal" they're still trumpeting even after it's been completely and totally destroyed as a Darrell Issa fabricated pile of bullshit.

For those psychopaths who despair that there will never again be another workplace like the Borgia court or Stalin's Kremlin, I give you Fox News.

(their HR department has my permission to use this in their recruiting materials)

Ewww. It's like looking into a pit filled with various vermin crawling all over/eating each other.

Just want to nuke the site from orbit. Cause that's the only way to be sure.

I read the headline and thought Ailes was going to be yet another self-hating conservative coming out of the closet.
