I don't know anyone who watches this show. Do y'all?

I mean, if you pass on Odenkirk (I'm sorry he's been way more famous for waaaaaay longer) then you can just drink your own tears while wishing your show had as many accolades as Breaking Bad.

It's one of those things that's so aggressively lukewarm that it burns.

Took me about 5 minutes of watching this when it first came out before I disgustedly turned it off and re-torrented the British one.

I watched the Brit one. As much as I love Steve, nobody is more squirm worthy than Ricky . That being said, casting director must be a hard gig. I would have wanted to cast all of these people.

Side note: People who think the British Office is better than the American Office are idiots. Of course, the American version owes its life to the British version, but it brought the show to a different level. I'm also ignoring the seasons that occurred after Michael Scott's departure.

Meh. The show was on its way down prior to Michael leaving. The minute Jim and Pam became a couple was the beginning of the end. Never have I seen two characters become so terrible so quickly

True, the decline began at that point, but it fell off the cliff without Steve Carrell.

Bah Bodenkirk is one of my favorite comedians. I got on the Office train really late . . . but I have a feeling that I'd have been a huge fan much earlier if he'd been attached from the get-go.

Yeah, I think all of the Mr. Show fans needed somewhere to go, and unfortunately, the Sarah Silverman Program just didn't cut it..

Yeah I didn't much care for the british version and think I saw one episode of the US version...if any of the above were in it, I probably would have watched it.

Now having said that, Rogen, Odenkirk, Cho, Stonestreet have done great work that they might have had to pass on if they were in the Office, and I would hate to miss Saul Goodman and knocked up and Harold and Kumar and Modern Family.

I really would have loved to seem Jonh Cho get the part, for the sociological reasons alone. Would people I have just accepted the Jim Pam relationship or would we get annoying trend pieces about one of tvs first interracial couples.

As said elsewhere in the comments, he probably would have been pretty great as Ryan, B.J. Novak's character. Part of the interracial couple with Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling). I think a lot of these people would have been great, but the chemistry of the cast they chose was pretty wonderful.

If Adam Scott was on The Office, we would not have had Party Down.

Seth Rogen as Dwight would've been such a disaster. No just no. With the exception of Adam Scott and Eric Stonestreet, I don't think any of the ones who auditioned would've worked. Still I prefer Krasinski over Scott. Steve Carell was perfect, and it's ridiculous that he never won an Emmy for it, but someone like fucking Jim Parsons won an Emmy twice for starring in a terrible show. Oh and Rainn Wilson should've won an Emmy as well but instead fucking Jeremy Piven won multiple times for Entourage

Not that John Cho would have made a better Jim... but it gives me great joy to even see him reading for the part. A small win for a colorblind casting.

Odenkirk could have worked, but I'm happy to have him on Breaking Bad where he can get just so delightfully slimey.

I adore Odenkirk to bits. He was also great on HIMYM.

It's hard for me to see him as dorkable for Office but he would've been great.
